Statement of intent : draft 3 I will make a 2-3 minute music video with an accompanying music magazine . The song i have chosen to do is called 'I'm not racist' by Joyner Lucas, the genre of the song is rap/ hip-hop. I plan on adopting some of the features of the original music video such as the cinematography used. I have chosen this genre because it initially gave audiences an insight into the lives of young, black, urban people and also gave them a voice. Tricia Rose has criticised commercial hip hop and suggests black culture has been appropriated and exploited by capitalism. I aim to use the genre of hip hop for what it used to be about and shed light on politics, race and history.
