WWW: good examples of long shot, close up and extreme closeup video was well timed good use of the setting EBI: the music didn't play on the video the camera shots were quite shaky use more videos than images editing needs improvement I have learnt that camera angles and hits play an important role in the narrative of film and tv as it gives the audience an insight if what the film is going to be about .

This is a video that includes different camera angles and shots that i took on the trip in London. The setting was good as an establishing shot. The people in the street were a good example of medium and close up shots.

1) Write an analysis of the cinematography in the opening sequence.  Highlight your use of media language and try to cover camera shots, angles and movement using the terminology we have learned in lessons. This opening sequence of Teen Wolf uses a big close up shot of the main characters face, then there is an extreme closeup shot of the characters eye which creates suspense and intrigues the audience as the closeup shows the characters eye turn red. At this point the audience are wondering who this character is then there is a mid shot where you can see the characters face to his mid section. In the next scene there is a medium closeup of the next character which shows his body and his surroundings which gives the audience some information about the character. They can understand that he is doing research suggesting he is involved in drama. In the next scene there is a closeup shot of the female characters face accentuating her features suggesting she may be a femme...

Teacher feedback The parallel sound for the romantic clip was well matched and went well with the genre of the clip. The clip i used for the contrapuntal sound was from Kings-men and i used opera   music to contrast the violent and fast pace action scene. This is a good use of contrapuntal sound because it is something you would not expect to hear when watching a violent scene. The editing was good as i used a wipe transition before and after the video as well as in between transitions of the two clips. This makes the video seem more professional and original. Student feedback www: great choice of contrapuntal an parallel sound good choice of clips good editing (transitions) timing of the video ( 1 minute) ebi: use more examples of clips could have faded the music in the end fade the clip at the end

Parallel and contrapuntal sound video 1) Choose a  60 second piece of music  - ideally from YouTube and not something that is likely to be blocked on copyright grounds. 2) Using editing software (Windows Movie maker is fine but Adobe Premiere is available on Media PCs) produce a  one-minute montage of images and video.  Half the images need to be  parallel  to the music and half need to be  contrapuntal . Think carefully about how you can best select images and video to have a significant impact on the audience. 3) Upload the finished video to YouTube and embed it in your own blog with a brief description of what you've created.  Note:  due to videos being blocked on copyright grounds, please also save the exported video file (e.g. MP4) into your student folder on the M: Media Shared drive. 4) Present your video to the class next lesson, explaining the thinking behind your work. This video includes examples of para...

1) Still image analysis Look at the still images on slides 33-37 of the Film Language Powerpoint linked above. Copy the images into your blog and answer the following questions for each image: Identify examples of high and low-key lighting. Say which depict top, back or under lighting. What effects are created by the lighting in each image?      In this image there is key-lighting and filler lighting used. I can tell there is key lighting because we can see the characters face clearly and as the key light is the brightest and most influential this emphasises the flames of smoke around the character and the filler lights on the sides emphasise the smoke from the sides and you can see that the characters arm and shoulder is bright and visible. The key light also emphasises the characters facial features such as the smokey eyes and bright red lip creating mystery and makes the character seem dangerous sugges...

1) Find a distinctive  still image  and write an analysis of the mise-en-scene. Use each of the aspects you've learned in the lesson In this image i can infer that the genre is action  by the overall mise-en-scene of the image.Firstly, all the characters in this image are wearing smart, formal suits and the main characters posture is quite firm as he is standing straight looking at something with a serious facial expression . The other characters seem to be beaten up which suggests the film is an action with violence. The setting looks like an expensive/posh hotel room which suggests that the characters may be fighting over money. In the image there is key lighting used as there is not much of a colour contrast between dark and light. The room is lit up with the main light and the lamps. 2) Find  TWO  film or TV extracts on YouTube from different genres (e.g. horror, sci-fi, costume drama). Embed them in your blog post and write a comparis...
